Anwara’s latest venture

Anwara began acting in films back in the 60’s and has come a long way ever since, with a few hundred films to her credit. The talented actor received eight National Film Awards throughout her illustrious career. Her introduction to the film industry was as a dancer, in Nachghor. She continued to work as a dancer in her next few films. Anwara’s debut film as an actor, Bala, was released in 1967.  She later starred as Aleya in the film Nawab Sirajuddaula, which shot her to instant fame.

However, during the 80’s, Anwara gained immense popularity by portraying the role of a mother in different ventures. She established herself as one of the most prominent mother figures in the industry. Overtime, Anwara reduced the amount of films she was involved with.

Currently, she is shooting for a new film titled, Amar Maa, where she is playing a lead character as a mother. The film has a family-centric plot, highlighting the relationship between children and their parents. Directed by Shahriar Nazim Joy, Amar Maa is set to release later this year.
