Jaya Ahsan returns to the sets, shoots with Piplu R Khan

Celebrated actor Jaya Ahsan is set to star in a feature film, directed by Piplu R Khan. The actor recently shared the news on social media. The name of the project is yet to be announced. The story of the film is written by Piplu R Khan and Nusrat Mati.

Piplu R Khan made his directorial debut with the docu-drama, Hasina: A Daughter's Tale, in 2018. This is his first feature film.

"I was having a tough time at home during the pandemic. One day, the director called me up and suggested that we make a short film," shared Jaya Ahsan in a Facebook post. "The short film was later turned into a feature film."

"The film is at the post-production stage and it is too early to share anything about the story, as the subject matter is very personal to me," said Piplu R Khan. "The approach of making this film was experimental. We faced challenges, but the overall experience was good."

On Facebook, Jaya Ahsan shared her experiences of shooting the film amid the pandemic. According to her, this was the first time that she shot with only 10 cast and crew members. All the team members were tested for COVID-19 twice, before they came to shoot. The filming wrapped up in 15 days. The team was not involved in any other project during the shoot.

"I designed the filming process, keeping the current circumstances in mind. The times have changed and as filmmakers, we have to adapt to these changes," shared the director.

Piplu R Khan's Applebox films, Abu Shahed Emon's Box Office Multimedia and Jaya Ahsan's production house, C Te Cinema are jointly producing the film.
