The Manikganj Drama Circle celebrated their second founding anniversary with theatrical productions, discussions, recitals and musical performances among other things, on Saturday. The celebrations started off with a colourful rally from the Shaheed Minar in the afternoon.
A large number of people attended the event. Prominent cultural personality and freedom fighter Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bachchu, Manikganj Municipality Mayor Gazi Kamrul Huda Selim, Acting President of Desh Natak, a national theater troops, Manikganj Drama Circle’s President, Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, Senior Vice President of the circle, Shahidul Haque Tapan, and General Secretary Saifur Rahman Shahid participated in a discussion. The Acting President of Desh Natok was also present.
During his brief speech, Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bachchu encouraged the youth of the country to engage in cultural activities. At the end of the discussion, guests, advisors and new committee members of the organisation were presented with uttorios.
Afterwards, the play, Ar Noy Bhul, written and directed by Shahidul Haque Tapan, was staged. Singers Sabrina Momtaz Momo and Emon Khan rendered songs, while Tahiya Haq Pritha recited poems.
Krishna Das and Masuma Akhter Babali danced at the event.
