Indian actor Rahul Roy, best known for starring in the 1990 musical blockbuster "Aashiqui", has suffered a brain stroke and is recuperating at a hospital in Mumbai.
He has been admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati hospital. Rahul was shooting for his film "LAC - Live the Battle".
The producer-director of the upcoming film, Nitin Kumar Gupta, who says he is a doctor himself, realised that Rahul was unable to make cohesive sentences and had a problem with speech. "Being a doctor myself, I suspected aphasia, which affects speech, and immediately took him to a local hospital for a CT scan," he told Indian media. "The doctors there didn't say anything but I referred the reports to some doctor friends and one of them suggested it might be a mini stroke which does not get caught in a CT Scan and recommended that we fly him to Mumbai for further treatment."
Rahul suffered the brain stroke due to extreme weather conditions in Kargil. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His brother Romeer Sen confirmed the news to Indian media, and said that the actor is recovering.
