Sitar Agniparikkha staged at BSA

The Indian epic, 'Ramayana', tells the story of Lord Rama's journey to free his wife Sita from Ravana. One of the episodes of 'Ramayana', where Sita is asked to prove her chastity was staged on recently at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Scripted by Saymon Zakaria, the production was titled Sitar Agniparikkha. Naznin Hasan Chumki played the roles of Sita along with Rama, Ravana and others, while she narrated the story. Chumki portrayed both the fierceness of Ravana and the grace and courage of Sita beautifully.

The hard work and dedication of the cast and crew shone through every aspect of the production. Lubna Marium's choreography and Zahidul Kabir Liton's music direction brought fineness and great energy to the play.  Amlan Biswas's light direction, especially in the climax, where dazzling lights were showcased as a symbol of fire, was spectacular, providing a realistic ambiance to the play.
