Three people were killed and four others critically injured as a jeep, popularly known as Chander Gari, fell into a ditch in Bandarban's Thanchi upazila yesterday.
Officer-in-charge of Thanchi police station Saifuddin Anwar said the vehicle plunged into a ditch around 10:00am after losing control leaving the three people killed on the spot and four others critically injured.
The dead were identified as Md Hossain, 60, of Cox's Bazar's Chakaria area, Payel Bawm, 27, of Baklai area, and Ashraf Ali, 50, of Chattogram's Bazalia area, he said, adding that the vehicle was headed for Thanchi from Baklai.
The injured were taken to Bandarban Sadar hospital, the OC said.
