Expressing gratitude to all, the ruling Awami League today said that number of violence is significantly lesser than the elections of the past.
AL leader Abdur Rahman told this at a press briefing at the party president’s Dhanmondi office in Dhaka after today's voting in the 11th general election ended.
He also said that this election was very much participatory.
Holding the election in a peaceful manner was a challenge this time, but it was made possible through the support of the people under a free Election Commission, he added.
He also gave the credit to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for establishing an extraordinary example of holding a free and fair election as per the constitution.
