Amela Khanam laid to rest

Amela Khanam, mother of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda, was laid to rest at her family graveyard at Nawmala village under Baufal upazila in Patuakhali yesterday.

The 102-year-old passed away at her residence in her village home on Monday after suffering from old-age complications, family said.

She left behind three sons and eight daughters to mourn her death.

Officials and employees of Election Commission and its Secretariat expressed grief at her death and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
