Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) is set to start another round of combing operation against Aedes mosquitoes -- carrier of both dengue and chikungunya -- from tomorrow.
The 10-day drive will continue every day except on August 11, 14 and 15, and will end on August 20.
The drive will be conducted -- dividing a ward into 10 sectors and a sector into 10 sub-sectors.
Every day DNCC will conduct the drive in all the sub-sectors, covering all the wards under DNCC.
Like other drives, teams will collect pictures and addresses of the houses and other establishments and mobile numbers of the owners if they find Aedes larvae or breeding sources.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam asked all the councillors, city dwellers and media workers to make the drive successful.
"As long as there is stagnant water in and around houses or other places, we will remain under risk of dengue," he said.
The mayor urged everyone to clean up stagnant water every three days.
Meanwhile DNCC in its three earlier combing operations found 2,686 Aedes mosquito larvae after visiting 2,74,576 houses in DNCC areas.
Mobile courts during the drives realised Tk 48,12,510 fine from the owners of houses or other establishments where they found Aedes larvae.
