A mobile court sealed off four coaching centres in Keraniganj on Thursday evening, as owners of those have been running the business defying the government's ban on keeping the centres open during SSC exams.
The mobile court assisted by Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) also fined Tk 1,000 to each of the owners of Shatata, Confidence, Pathshala and MR coaching centres, said Maj Syed Imran Hoshan, company commander of Rab-10 in Keraniganj.
Two out of the four centres were operated by local schoolteachers, while the other two were operated by two students, he said.
The owners were asked to comply with the government's directives to keep their coaching centres closed until the end of the ongoing Secondary School Certificate and its equivalent examinations, the Rab official also said.
The mobile court was led by Promatha Ranjan Ghatak, assistant commissioner (land) of South Keraniganj.
Earlier, the government ordered owners of all coaching centers across the country to keep their businesses closed from January 27 to February 27, to facilitate the SSC exams without the incidents of any question paper leakage.
