All concerned units of Bangladesh Police have been issued directives in this regard, read a press release signed by Md Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general of police (media and PR).

The bomb attack is currently being investigated, it said adding, “The matter of Islamic State’s claim of responsibility (for the blast) has come to sight. But no connection between IS and the attack has been ascertained yet.”

Any further update in this connection will be notified later, the release added.
