Road crashes kill six

Six people were killed and two others injured in three districts yesterday, report our correspondents.

In Tangail, three people were killed when an unidentified vehicle hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw  on Bangabandhu Bridge east link road in Kalihati upazila.

Police said Sabur Miah, 35, the driver of the auto-rickshaw, died instantly.

The other two, whose identities could not be known immediately, succumbed to their injuries at Tangail General Hospital.

In Shariatpur, a couple was killed as a truck ran over their motorbike in Kashipur area of Sadar upazila.

Mintu Mondal, 30, and his wife Nondita Rani Mondal, 22, were declared dead at Shariatpur General Hospital, said Palong police.

In Panchagarh, a JSC examinee, was killed and two others were injured after an easy-bike hit their motorbike in Baburhat of Debiganj upazila.

Sohel Rana, 14, son of Hamidar Rahman from Tepriganj Nongrapara village, was a class VIII student of Beluadanga Adarsha High School.
