The filling station operator, who was set on fire on Tuesday allegedly by his co-workers, died at a hospital in the capital early today.

The youth was a student of Siddheswari College and took the part-time job at a monthly salary of Tk 5,000.

He had suffered 40 percent burns after another operator Mahmudul Hasan Emon (22) set him on fire at Salahuddin Petrol Pump in Dhaka's Jurain area following an argument, police said.

Police arrested Emon and two other employees of the filing station -- Fahad Ahmed Pavel (28) and Shahidul Islam (18) -- in this connection after the victim's father Farid Mia filed a case with Shyampur Police Station.
