Two held with 8,500 yaba pills

Rab arrested two persons including a woman and recovered 8,500 yaba tablets from them in Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj yesterday.

The arrestees were identified as a former madrasa student Md Forkan, 28, and his accomplice Laila Begum, 40, said Md Nazmul Hasan, assistant director of Rab-11.

Tipped off, a team of the elite forces raided a luxury bus on Dhaka-Chattogram highway and arrested the duo.

They were smuggling the contrabands sticking them under the seat with help of magnets, the official said.

A case has been filed with Shiddhirganj Police Station against the duo arrested.

Md Forkan was smuggling Yaba using magnet for a long time, Rab officials claimed.

They brought the drugs from Cox's Bazar and sold in Dhaka and adjoining areas.
