Electrocuted, 2 killed falling off train

Two passengers died and three injured as they fell off a commuter train after being electrocuted in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh last night.

One of the deceased was identified as Sobuj Mia, 17, a hawker, while the name of another passenger, aged 40, could not be known immediately, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.

Quoting locals and train passengers, Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Trishal Police Station, said, the victims were traveling on the roof of a Mymensingh-bound commuter train from Dhaka.

As the train left Ahmedbari railway station in Trishal, they fell off the train after being hit by an electric wire around 8:00pm, the OC said.

The injured -- Idris Ali, Ashik and an unidentified person of Jamalpur -- were admitted at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital around 10:00pm, said Abdul Ahad Khan, OC of Mymensingh Railway Police Station.

The bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
