A head-on collision between a bus and a truck killed at least three people and injured 25 others on Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur this morning.
One of the deceased was identified as bus driver Sirazul Islam, 55, hailed from Madaripur Sadar upazila, our Faridpur correspondent reports quoting police.
Identity of the two other deceased could not be known immediately.
The accident occurred when a Madaripur-bound bus of Chandra Paribahan collided head-on with a truck in Purba Sodardi area around 8:25am, said sergeant Md. Shamim Hossain of Bhanga Highway Police Station.
Two people died on the spot while 26 were injured in the accident, the sergeant added.
After rushing to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, Sirajul was declared dead by duty doctors, he said.
All the injured, who were the passengers of the bus, are undergoing treatment at Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and Faridpur Medical College Hospital, the police official told.
Police seized both the bus and truck, he added.
