A four-year-old boy was rescued from Netrakona on Wednesday, four days after his abduction in Tangail.
Police arrested two men in connection with the incident.
Al Wasir, son of Zakirul Islam of Tangail's Gopalpur upazila, was abducted from near his house in the area on Sunday.
The kidnappers later demanded Tk 40 lakh ransom from the victim's mother over mobile phone.
After negotiations, the ransom money was settled at Tk 5 lakh, said Md Ahaduzzaman Miah, additional superintendent of police (crime) in Tangail.
Later, the victim's uncle gave the money to the abductors at Belkuchi village in Madhupur upazila on Tuesday night.
At that time, a police team, on information, raided the village and arrested Likhon and Sumon with the ransom money.
Following the arrestees' confessional statement, the law enforcers rescued the boy from the house of another abductor Sajib's sister in Netrakona's Barhatta upazila early Wednesday.
However, Sajib managed to flee the scene, said the police official.
Police are trying to arrest Sajib and Nahid, the main mastermind behind the abduction.
