No Bangladeshi citizen will be allowed to leave the country without Covid-19 negative certificate from the coronavirus testing centres authorised by the government.
The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial virtual meeting chaired by Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, according to a press release of the foreign ministry.
The meeting also recommended uploading all Covid-19 negative certificates on the website of respective authorised coronavirus testing authorities so that immigration officers can check their authenticity before allowing anyone to leave the country.
The meeting further decided to install coronavirus testing facilities dedicated for Bangladeshi expatriate workers who intend to go abroad for job purpose under the Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry.
Expatriate Welfare Minister Imran Ahmad, Health Minister Zahid Maleque and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam attended the meeting, the release added.
