State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid tonight categorically told parliament that no household gas connection will be provided in the future.
He informed the decision while responding to a supplementary question in parliament.
“MPs repeatedly question (me) about the issue (providing gas supply to household). Today, I want to say clearly that no gas connection will be provided to any house from now,” said the junior minister.
He said the fresh gas connection will be provided to the industrial zones and the pipelines are being installed to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to the industrial zones.
