New Tech at RUSSIA

The 2018 version of the Telstar football features redesigned panels that are pixelated for durability and propellor-shaped to help flight stability.  There's an NFC chip embedded into the ball, and there's even a little Wi-Fi symbol on it calling attention to the tech inside.

The video assistant referee still has its critics, but the technology -- which promises to alleviate any 'human errors' on the referees part by adding a referee such as the third umpire in cricket -- will certainly be a welcome addition to the event.

The 2018 World Cup also boasts the latest in technology, with coaches having access to real-time data about the performance of their players. Tablets will deliver the data and is expected to make teams more flexible.
