One would only think that perhaps that is where I draw the line, but astonishingly, it was just the beginning as I had tons of other inspiration, including the stunning Elizabeth Taylor, and her beautiful polka dot gowns that only amplify my love affair with the dots.
From a general perspective, polka dots have always been there, and if any lady who calls herself stylish, dots are certainly a must-have item, in their wardrobe. If not, we would certainly think again about the fairness of their claim to being a fashionista!
Let's say you have a polka dotted sari, probably handed down to you by your super stylish and charming mother. How do you style it? Do you mimic Bardot, Taylor or Loren to be retro, or do you keep it thoroughly modern?
Or, do you try something new, like putting on a short layered bob with the polka cargos and try blending in with the millennials? Personally, I get nostalgic whenever I see polka dots, I automatically feel obliged to connect them to the beautiful sirens of the past.
A polka dotted sari always looks great with a solid coloured blouse. To add more fun to the look, maybe go for the sleeveless, or the off-shoulder blouse. And yes, the headbands and the big '80s bun look absolutely amazing when paired up with the polka dotted sari.
My personal favourites are the polka dotted bags and sandals. These you do not necessarily have to couple with a sari, unless you want to end up looking bizarre and outlandish, for that is difficult to carry off. The dotted accessories look their best when matched with solid bold coloured tops, skirts, cargo pants, bikinis, and palazzos.
You have not seen a dotted cargo pant before? Then you probably have not seen the best side of fashion yet! There is so much for you to discover, and a good suggestion is to start browsing the latest fashion magazines. For the moment, let me fill you in by providing the ultimate inside information… Polka dotted bikinis and cargoes are simply out of the world stunning and super trendy at the moment.
