2 held with 100 kgs of hemp in B’baria

Members of Narcotics Department in a drive detained two people along with 100 kgs of hemp from Islampur in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria yesterday.

The detained were identified as Manna Mia, 41, son of Mantu Mia of Islampur village, and Jamal, 18, son of Yusuf Ali of Char Islampur village in the upazila.

Tipped off, a team of Narcotics Control Department, led by its assistant director Md Bahauddin, conducted a drive in the area and held them along with the hemp.

Three others fled the scene during the drive.

A case was filed with Bijoynagar Police Station in this connection.
