Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan today took a swipe at Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain for forming Jatiya Oikyafront with “anti-liberation forces” and termed it as the unity of the national enemy.
“That is not Jatiya Oikya. It is a unity of the national enemy. Conspiracy is on after being angered by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s development works,” the shipping minister said this while talking to reporters in Barishal.
A group of people, who have never seen in politics, have suddenly started becoming vocal against Sheikh Hasina-led government with a view to restoring democracy in the country, he said.
Claiming that the crack has already developed in the Oikyafront, Shahjahan Khan said National Awami Party (NAP) and National Democratic Party (NDP) have already left the unity and other components will do the same.
He asked a question to Khamal Hossain saying that where he and his cohorts were when BNP-Jamaat men were engaged in a killing spree across the country by throwing petrol bombs in 2015.
“Democracy cannot be meant for those who burn people to kill,” Shahjahan Khan said.
Shahjahan Khan was talking to reporters after inaugurating the regional commercial building of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) there.
