A Jubo League man was stabbed to death by miscreants in Char Haripur area of Mymensingh city today, police said.
Deceased Rezaul Karim Russel, 34, was a member of Jubo League's Mymensingh district unit. He was also a former vice president of the district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student front of ruling Awami League (AL).
Russel, son of Jalal Uddin, was stabbed indiscriminately by unidentified criminals around 2:20am, our correspondent reports quoting Md Mahmudul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

Later around 2:30am, his family was informed that Russel was killed, she said.

During last Ramadan in 2018, Arif’s followers attacked Russel and threatened for his life several times, the victim's Anwar Hossain Lemon said adding "I am sure that Arif and his men are involved behind the killing".
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Mymensingh Range) Nibash Chandra Majhi said that he has instructed police to take immediate steps to bring the killers to book.
