  • Bangladesh university of business and technology

    Established in 2003 under the Private University Act of 1992, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) was created by the governing body of Dhaka Commerce College with the vision to create an institution that can provide quality education and training to the prospective students. The institution, run by a Board of Trustees and a Syndicate, set out to follow North American university standards under the regulations set by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC).

  • An evening of music and comedy with The Mic Peeps

    While Dhaka may seem to lack shows where people can go and socialise at, “The Mic Peeps” have been offering a great solution. Starting its journey on February 1, 2018 at Banani's Gourmet Bazar, The Mic Peeps aims to help people showcase their talents in music, comedy, and any other form of performing arts. So far they've collaborated with the venue to host seven shows, with the most recent one taking place on May 10. I got the chance to visit the event and see what it was all about.

    On April 28, 2018, Singapore School Kinderland (SSK) celebrated the graduation of their Kindergarten-2 students and Primary-6 students at the auditorium of International School, Dhaka (ISD) in Bashundhara. The event was followed by a programme where children from the graduating grades took part in a musical performance.

    On April 21, 2018, British Council hosted the national gala round of the first FameLab in Bangladesh at its University of Dhaka premises. Twelve finalists from across the country came together to celebrate and communicate their enthusiasm and passion for science at the event.

  • Academia Robotics Team to join NASA's competition in USA

    An inter-school team of six Bangladeshi high school students are all set to compete at the upcoming NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge 2018 to be held at the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, USA from April 12-15, 2018. This is the first ever high school team from Bangladesh to participate in any international rover challenge.
