For the first time, an Afghanistan-Bangladeshi co-production short film, Roqaia has been selected for the Venice International Film Festival. The ten minute-long film has been directed by Diana Saqeb Jamal, and produced by Arifur Rahman and Bijon Imtiaz, under the banner of Goopy Bagha Productions. Regarding the film, Arifur said, “Diana is a very talented director. By co-producing foreign films, we are presenting Bangladesh’s culture to the world. We’re creating a bridge between films produced in Bangladesh, and those produced internationally.”
