Last year, musician Ed Sheeran's Game of Thrones cameo was widely criticized on social media. Now, one of the series' own actors is joining in on criticizing the cameo. Kristian Nairn, who played the lovable giant Hodor on the fantasy show revealed to Huffington Post about how he was not a fan of Ed Sheeran's cameo. “I'm not a fan of the cameos in Game of Thrones. I don't like them. I think it's stupid,” said the actor. “I don't mind going on the record on that. I just think it takes you right out of the world. Especially Ed Sheeran,” he added. “I was like, 'Why is Ed Sheeran here?' I mean, Ed Sheeran's great. He's a great guy, great musician, but why is he in Game of Thrones?” Nairn, who was written off the show last season thought that the cameo was a huge distraction. “It's a fantasy show. We're all caught in this amazing world and spend so much time and money and talent to create, and all of a sudden there's a pop star? What?” he told The Huffington Post. Recently Kristian Nairn himself was seen nailing the riffs of Holy Wars at a Megadeth concert backstage alongside Dave Mustaine.
