Jim Carrey is said to be undergoing negotiations to play the villain Robotnik in the live-action adaptation of the renowned SEGA game Sonic the Hedgehog. The film is going to be directed by Jeff Fowler, and is under Paramount Studios. It is starring James Marsden and Tika Sumpter, and the script has been written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. The plot revolves around how Sonic must stop Dr. Eggman from taking over the world. Sonic the Hedgehog has spanned several iterations from Sega consoles in the 1990s to mobile games and absorption into the Nintendo Mario Brothers video game universe.
