With the final season of Game of Thrones fast approaching, theories surrounding deaths of the taboo couples of the show are quickly arising. The pair of Jon Snow and his aunt, Daenerys Targaryen, who were completely unaware of their blood relation, are unlikely to get a happy ending. A theory states that Jon might have to murder her for forging a magic sword to defeat the Night King and his army. As legend goes, the saviour must pull the sword, Lightbringer from the flames and theory suggests that the flame is living fire, meaning he must plunge the sword through the heart of a loved one. Likewise, Jaime Lannister and sister, Cersei might have a similar ending. In the books, it was predicted that Cersei would be strangled by her younger brother. Although popular assumption was Tyrion; according to fans, Jaime could also be the killer; the clue being spotted in Ed Sheeran's featured song, Hands of Gold. The song talks about a man with “shame and bliss” for his lover and how he has “cold” hands of gold. This could be a reference to Jaime's gold hand. Now, do the rumours hold any truth or are they completely far-fetched? We can only find out when the season is aired in April.
