Following the loss to Real Madrid, PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot brought into focus the fact that playing and scoring against Dijon is fun but PSG players needed to raise their level in the Champions League. Dijon posted on social media after Rabiot's comment and joked that they did everything to help the Paris team prior to the Madrid game but their effort was not appreciated.
PSG dominated on certain phases of the game against Madrid and even took the lead with Rabiot’s goal.
However, they conceded a penalty inside the first half and then two late goals sunk them to a 3-1 defeat at the Bernabeu.
"It's great to put eight goals past Dijon, but it is in these matches that you have to make it count," Rabiot told beIN SPORTS.
PSG’s Brazilian star Neymar himself had netted four against Dijon in January but on Wednesday it was a different ball game as he failed to find the net when it mattered.
Dijon did not miss out on the opportunity to hit back at Rabiot with an entertaining reply as the French club took to twitter and wrote: "We did everything to give PSG confidence before Real Madrid... And this is how they thank us!"
