Bayern Munich have failed their last four games in all competitions as pressure continued to grow on manager Niko Kovac. Amidst the crisis there had been speculations that former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane might replace the current Bayern manager but team’s Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara dismissed the suggestions as just rumours.
The champions are sixth in the Bundesliga table after seven games, four points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, and were beaten 3-0 at home by Borussia Monchengladbach last Saturday. In the Champions League they were held to a 1-1 draw by a young Ajax side and for the European giants a coach like Zidane could be the answer. For Thiago the speculations are just speculations and the team have the mettle to overcome the current run of poor results.
"It's just rumours. Rumours are rumours. Fortunately, there are many veteran players at Bayern and we know how to deal with this,” Thiago told Cadena Ser.
"We try to work in order to change this situation and move forward. We have to work with what we have now. Speculating on the future achieves nothing."
