Fahad, Tahsin, Anjum qualify for finals of Asian Junior Chess online

International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman and Tahsin Tajwar Zia have qualified for the final round in the open category while WFM Noshin Anjum qualified for the final round in the girls category in the Asian Junior and Girls Chess Championships-2020 online.  

Asian Chess Federation today organsied the rapid chess events where 15 boys and girls participated in each category from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Maldives.

In the open category, Fahad and Tahsin finished first and second respectively scoring six points each out of seven games. Tahsin however defeated Fahad in the fourth round match. Fahad was declared champion through tiebreaker.

In the girls section, Noshin Anjum became second behind Sri Lankan WCM Jayaweera Sayuni Gihansa with 5.5 points from seven games, half point less than the champion. Ahmed Walija and Warsia Khusbu from Bangladesh became fourth and fifth with 5 and 4.5 points respectively.

Three boys from the open section and 3 girls from the girls section qualified for the final phase.
