Hamid retained as GS in shooting fed's ad-hoc committee

Dissolving the executive committee of Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation (BSSF), the National Sports Council (NSC) today appointed an ad-hoc committee by retaining Enthekhabul Hamid Apu as the BSSF secretary general.

Major General Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan has been appointed as the BSSF president while former general secretary Ishteaque Ahmed Bablu has been made senior vice-president.

The activities at BSSF had all but halted following a long dispute between president Nazimuddin Chowdhury and GS Enthekhabul Hamid as they blamed each other before the BSSF president took full control of BSSF, keeping Hamid out of federation activities.

Media, including The Daily Star, published a series of reports about the stalemate at BSSF, promting the NSC to launch an investigation a few months earlier. The committee also suggested appointing an ad-hoc committee in place of the elected committee, which will expire in December.

The ad-hoc committee has been asked to take necessary steps to hold its elections immediately.
