Bumble Bee is an audio-visual production house, which began their journey in 2012. They have been occupied in making music videos, jingles, kids’ entertainment content, and television commercials, along with promoting digital marketing, since their inception. Tousif Mujtaba Shourin, CEO and Managing Director of Bumble Bee production shared the story of his production house, studio and his upcoming ventures with us.
Tell us a little about yourself and how your career in production began.
Although I am a management student, I was always fascinated with music. I left my corporate job to follow my passion. Besides, I am the guitarist, composer and second vocalist of Blue Jeans. We formed the band in the same year that Bumble Bee was formed. Apart from making music, I was interested in developing the visual segments, particularly for my band. This is how Bumble Bee was born and we opened our studio. Later, we started working for others.
Bumble Bee, the name of your company, is quite interesting. Is there any story behind the name?
Interestingly, ‘Bumblebee’ from the movie Transformers is my all-time favourite character, additionally the Bumble bee is the most efficient and active amongst the bees, which matches with our vision.
You deal with new comers often. Share your experience guiding them.
It is challenging. However, it is also exciting to guide the new comers. There are a lot of singers who are talented and look forward to enhancing their talents in learning new things. Bumble Bee provides them with a platform where they can explore their talents.
With the growing competition these days, how do you manage to be authentic?
We focus on promoting the new talents. At the same time, we provide opportunities to non-professionals. Music, nowadays has become accessible to all. However, it is the audience who will judge the quality of the work.
