Shah Jalal Jonak is a popular young writer and YouTuber. He makes fun videos related to science, for school students. Currently studying Rocket Complexes and Space Science at Bauman Moscow State Technical University in Russia, he is the first Bangladeshi to receive a full scholarship from the Russian Federation. After authoring six books, he has released his new book, Mohabishwer Mohakash Fari, at the Ekushey Boi Mela this year. The book, published by Tamralipi, revolves around space and our solar system. It is available in pavilion 17 at BDT 270.
His first book, Magic of Rubik's Cube, published in Bangla in 2015, teaches the tips and tricks for solving the Rubik's Cube. In 2018, he released Podartho Bigganer Mojar Proshno O Uttor, which delves into the fun facts of Physics. His book, Priyo Baba: Jatir Pitake Lekha Torun Projonmer Chithir Songkolon, is a collection of 50 letters written by young people to Bangabandhu. He has also written two science books for kids, Shobder Golpo and Poribesh O Jolobayur Golpo. In addition, his book, Shobdo Diye Buddhir Khela is a word puzzle game book.
Jonak is inspired by the books he read while growing up and regards reading as a necessity for cultivating a literary career. "When I write, I feel that I am directly talking to my readers and that influences the way I write," he said. He also revealed that he was rejected by ten publications when he approached them with his first book.
He has also founded an organisation, Stepping Towards Dreamy Land, that addresses the high dropout rates in primary schools. Through the organisation, he intends to reduce the gap by visiting different schools for underprivileged children and conduct classes on the importance of literacy. Till now, he has connected with 1800 students. Jonak wants to promote education for a better future.
