Bashundhara fire under control in 6 hours

The fire that broke out at Bashundhara City shopping complex in Dhaka’s Panthapath area this morning has been brought under control after six hours of their frantic efforts.

Firefighters have so far controlled the blaze, said Major AKM Shakil Newaz, director (operation and maintenance) of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Plumes of smoke are still coming out of the mall though 29 firefighting units are working hard to bring the situation under control.
