In an act of rare generosity, Bollywood's biggest superstar, Amitabh Bachchan announced that he will pay off the debts of 850 farmers in his home state, Uttar Pradesh. The donation will amount to Rs 550m (6 Lakhs approximately) in total. This particular movement is presumed to be in support of underprivileged agrarian workers who have been demanding more facilities from the government.
