One of the most prominent actors of all time, Afzal Hossain remains ever-green with his prowess in the field of entertainment. During the golden times of BTV, he reigned supreme as most of the tele-fictions were incomplete without him. Even to this day, the actor holds his steadfast position. As Eid ul Adha nears, Afzal is busy directing tele-fictions for the festive season. He is also preparing for a programme where he will be the host. The artiste talks to The Daily Star about what keeps him busy.
Kindly tell us more about the programme that you will be hosting.
It is a programme for BTV which will begin its shoot from August 9. Some of the prominent actors from the renowned television serial Kothao Keu Nei will feature as guests in the show. We intend to take a walk down memory lane with all. I have hosted programmes earlier as well. It’s a good change, every once in a while.
Every Eid you direct a project revolving around ‘Choto Kaku’. Can we expect something this season as well?
Currently I am shooting for Choto Kaku at Uttara. It will be a seven-episode TV serial titled, Khali Khali Noakhali. Like always, we will be featuring different stories from the series.
Will you be acting in Khali Khali Noakhali?
I play the character of Choto Kaku in this TV serial. The audience likes the character, and that is what drives me to continue.
Will you be directing any other tele-fictions for Eid ul Adha?
Even though I did direct earlier, I am afraid I won’t be able to direct any more projects this time. It is rather hectic to direct one seven-episode series. As Khali Khali Noakhali is slightly unique, I would like to focus on it solely.
What other tele-fictions will you be acting in?
Besides Khali Khali Noakhali, I will be starring in a tele-fiction directed by Arif Khan. The tele-fiction was shot in Nepal.
It was your birthday recently. How did you spend the day?
I celebrated the day with my family and loved ones in Dhaka.
