Considering the current Covid-19 situation in the country, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) authorities have postponed the admission test for 2020-21 academic session, originally scheduled for June 10.

The decision was made at an emergency meeting of the Buet admission committee this afternoon, Prof Dr Khandaker Shabbir Ahmed, chairman of the committee, told our Dhaka University correspondent tonight.

The preliminary admission tests, scheduled for May 31 and June 1, were also postponed, the professor said.

According to an earlier press release, admission seekers will be required to sit for preliminary selection exams, from which candidates will be selected for the final exam on June 10.

The new deadline for the admission tests will be set at the meeting of the Buet Academic Council after considering and observing the Covid-19 situation in the country, added the admission committee chairman.
