With no inter-district buses, people look for other means to go home for Eid

People from areas in and around Dhaka were seen flocking to Aminbazar in the capital on local buses this morning to try and make their journey home ahead of Eid.

Homebound people from Savar, Nabinagar, Ashulia and Dhamrai were headed to Gabtoli this morning. From here they are hoping to catch local modes of transport to take them home, reports our photojournalist who visited the spot.

Most passengers will be making multiple stoppages to reach their destinations. From Gabtoli many will be going to Mawa, many more will head towards Chattogram road, the commuters said.

With travel bags in their hands, many men and women were seen heading on foot towards the transport stands around.

Government suspended inter-district transportation ahead of Eid as part of their move to contain Covid-19 outbreak in the country. Bus service resumed within cities across the country, including Dhaka, on May 6.
