Her husband Abdus Sattar was carrying their three-year-old son Sakib. The father and the three-year-old were unhurt as they were a little ahead, police and family members said.

Critically injured, the mother and the son were rushed to DMCH where doctors declared Shahinur dead around 1:30am, said Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station.

Police are trying to identify the vehicle, he said.
