A case was filed today in connection with the deadly fire at the 22-storey FR Tower in Dhaka's Banani area on Thursday in which 26 people were killed and around 100 others injured.

SM Mostaq Ahmed, deputy commissioner (Gulshan Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed it to The Daily Star.

The owners submitted applications in this regard to the authorities concerned along with the necessary documents and were returned their vehicles, Sub-Inspector Abdul Haque, who is on duty at the spot, told The Daily Star.

Around 10 motorcycles and three private cars were handed over to their owners after they presented relevant documents this noon, said Mithun Malakar, a security staff of FR Tower, adding that more vehicles are still parked at the basement.

The basement of FR Tower was reportedly not affected in the fire and hence the vehicles did not sustain any damage, he added.
