A student of Eden Mohila College, who was injured after falling off a running motorcycle in Dhaka’s Bijoy Sarani area on Saturday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early today.
Aklima Akter, 23, who was undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the DMCH, succumbed at the hospital around 6:30am, Abdul Khan, assistant sub-inspector of the hospital’s police camp, told The Daily Star.
The victim, daughter of Abul Kalam of Sundurpur village in Noakhali’s Chatkhil upazila, used to live with her family in East Kazipara of Mirpur in the capital.
Aklima was injured after she fell down from a motorbike hired from the ride-sharing platform Uber in Bijoy Sarani area when she was going to Farmgate on Saturday, ASI Abdul Khan said.
She was first taken to Al-Raji Hospital and later shifted to the DMCH where she died early today, the police official added.
