Female job seeker gang-raped in Shyamoli

Cops say

A female job seeker has been gang-raped at an office of a private company in Dhaka’s Shyamoli area when she went there for a job interview, police said.

The girl went to the office of Health Vision, a vaccine supply company, on the fourth floor of a building on Road no. 3 in Shyamoli on Tuesday for giving interview for a job, said Jane Alam Munshi, officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.

During the interview, two staff of the office feed the girl soft drinks mixed with sedative pills and raped her, the OC told The Daily Star quoting the victim.

The law enforcers arrested Fahim Ahmed Foyez, 31, one of the accused from the office last night after the victim filed a case against the two with the police station yesterday, he said.

The police official said they were trying to arrest another accused.

The girl was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka for forensic test, the OC said.

Besides, police also collected some evidence including the soft drinks mixed with sedative pills, which were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for test, he said.
