Scholastica holds virtual graduation ceremony

The three-day long virtual graduation ceremony of Scholastica, a leading English-medium school, ended on Friday.

Due to the pandemic, the event was organised online, school authorities said in a press release.

Certificates were awarded to 564 students of Scholastica Uttara and Mirpur senior sections. Among them, 333 students passed their O-levels and 231 their A-levels.

Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, prominent writer and former professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology,  was the ceremony's chief guest and addressed the graduates in a video message.

He urged students to be ideal humans  first and foremost, saying, "You can use technology as much as you want. But remember, do not let technology use you."

Syeda Madiha Murshed, managing director of Scholastica; Wasima Parveen, director and COO; Farah Sophia Ahmed, principal and section head of Uttara senior campus; Nurun Nahar Mozumdar, section head of Mirpur senior campus; and Sabina Mustafa, academic affairs head of both senior campuses, congratulated the graduates through video.

Several alumni from home and abroad also delivered inspirational messages via video. Among them were Nazim Farhan Chowdhury, managing director of Adcomm Ltd and Tanjil Chowdhury, chairperson of Prime Bank.
