Arms case against Shahed moved to Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court

The arms case against Regent Group Chairman Mohammad Shahed has been transferred to Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court for trial.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate A M Zulfikar Hayat sent the case to the sessions judge's court today for its next course of action, court sources said.

Within nine working days of taking charge, DB Inspector Md Sairul Islam and also investigation officer of the case on July 30 submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka, showing 13 people as prosecution witnesses.

Earlier on July 26, Shahed was shown arrested in the case after the IO submitted a petition.

In the charge sheet, the IO said the charges brought against Shahed were primarily proved and he should be brought under trial.

On July 19, a team of DB found Shahed's private car in front of house no-14, Sector-11, in the city's Uttara Paschim area.

DB seized a pistol with one round of bullet from the car. Later, a case was filed under the Arms Act against him.
