Md Ishtiaq Ahmed, inspector (operation) of Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station, has been transferred.
The police officer has been transferred to the Chatalpar Investigation Centre under Nasirnagar Police Station while the In-Charge of the Investigation Centre Inspector Ranjan Kumar replaced Ishtiaq Ahmed as per an order from the police headquarters today.
Brahmanbaria Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Crime) Md Roish Uddin confirmed the news to The Daily Star.
Ishtiaq joined the police station in 2014 and was promoted as an inspector on December, 2019.
His transfer comes one and half month after Hefajat-e-Islam activists carried out violence in Brahmanbaria on March 26 to March 28 centering Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh.
Earlier on April 26, Md Abdur Rahim, officer-in-charge of Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station was transferred and attached to Rangpur Range Police.
