Renowned singer and anchor Alif Alauddin hospitalised
Popular singer-songwriter and television host Alif Alauddin has been hospitalised at the city's Bangladesh Specialized Hospital, informs her husband and noted musician Kazi Faisal Ahmed. She is the daughter of renowned musician Alauddin Ali.
The artiste was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease and has been sick for a while now. "My mother in law, Nazrul Sangeet singer Salma Sultana was diagnosed with the same condition, and this disease has been genetically passed down to my wife,' says Faisal.
Alif Alauddin had undergone a dialysis yesterday, and is looking forward to another surgery tomorrow. "The cysts in her kidney is growing rapidly and now the doctors have no other option but to operate," he says.
"The doctors have recommended two types of treatment, either you transplant the kidneys or you go for regular dialysis and surgeries. Following the doctor's recommendation, we have started her treatment. I ask for prayers from her fans on her behalf."
The singer had supported her mother when she was battling the same disease, and has been keeping very strong throughout. "She has lost both her parents but yet, she has been very brave and strong. She never lets anyone realise the extremity of her condition," shares Faisal. "Her spirit gives me strength and hope. It's her words- I will come back stronger- that gives me the courage to keep going."
Over the years, Alif Alauddin has been crafting her own legacy, worthy of her parents' name. Alongside many hit songs, she became the face of Music Buzz, one of the most popular musical shows in the country.
Even in unbearable pain, the artiste has been balancing her personal and professional life perfectly since the last 15 years. She has been budding YouTube channel GMX, where shows 'Geek Myth', and 'Metal vs Pop' have been appreciated by the listeners.
