Abandoned van containing explosives found near Ambani’s Mumbai house: Maharashtra home minister

An abandoned vehicle containing explosives was found this evening near India's richest industrialist Mukesh Ambani's house in Mumbai, Maharashtra state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said.

"A Scorpio van with some gelatin was found at some distance from Mukesh Ambani's home in Mumbai. The Mumbai Crime Branch is conducting an investigation into it. The truth will come out," Deshmukh said.

Police sources said the vehicle was found on Carmichael Road and a bomb detection and disposal squad and other police teams reached the spot immediately.

Security has been enhanced in the area and senior officers of the Mumbai Police examined the spot.

Mukesh Ambani is the promoter of the diversified business conglomerate Reliance Industries, one of the biggest private enterprises of India.
