DSCC mayor asks city dwellers to provide info on Aedes larvae to ensure quick action
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today urged city dwellers to provide information about Aedes mosquitoes so that DSCC men can take necessary steps at their home such as spraying for Aedes larvae.
The mayor made the comment while visiting Dhaka match factory colony area to observe the waterlogging situation as part of his regular weekly visit.
"We cannot reach the rooftop of a building, so you (citizens) observe whether there is stagnant water and either clean it by yourselves or inform us and we will clean it," he said.
"If you find any breeding source or larvae at your neighbour's home inform us and we will go there and so will our mobile courts. Just give us information as it is not possible for us to destroy all breeding sources by going home to home," he said.
Requesting city dwellers, the DSCC mayor said Aedes mosquito can breed in any pot or container small or big, so please give information so that they can conduct anti-mosquito drive wherever needed.
Ten mobile courts of the DSCC yesterday fined owners of 24 under-construction buildings and houses Tk 3.31 lakh as they found Aedes mosquitoe' larvae there.
